Applications are invited for cleaning and catering staff to work in various Schools and Public buildings to cover staff holidays and absence. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work both individually and as part of a team. You will be available to work as and when required. Duties will include but are not limited to:

Day to day cleaning, i.e. buffing and vacuuming, mopping, cleaning toilets and other hard surfaces
Carrying out task to ensure that a professional catering service is provided at a high standard i.e. preparing food, setting up the dining room, serving children, cleaning the kitchen etc.

Relevant training will be provided.

Hours of Work

The hours of work will be dependent on the service needs. You will need to be available to work early morning, lunchtime or evening. For further details, please see the Job Description.

An opportunity has arisen to work in our small, but enthusiastic, service who are committed to improving aspirations and outcomes for Children and Young People with Vision Impairment. The role of the Hearing and Vision Specialist Service is to facilitate access and inclusion to ensure children/young people requiring specialist Hearing or Vision support reach their full potential.

As a Qualified Teacher of Vision Impairment, you will:

Promote the successful inclusion and learning opportunities VI CYP in all educational settings.
Demonstrate and promote high aspirations and expectations.
Promote the principles of good practice and VI friendly approaches.
Raise awareness of duties and expectations in line with the Equality Act (2010).
Provide training, coaching and modelling as required, to ensure parents and teaching staff have the confidence, capacity and the necessary skills to meet the needs of VI CYP in their homes and educational setting.
Support teachers/practitioners in removing barriers to learning through curricular planning, the preparation of materials, adapting the learning environment and the use of technology to enable VI CYP to make maximum progress.

Education at degree level and hold Qualified Teacher Status.

Develop and promote innovative schemes that encourage engagement with the Council’s tree policies.
Provide technical advice in a consultancy capacity to promote arboricultural best practices.
Manage and deliver the arboricultural components of the Council’s We Know Services, including undertaking surveys across the country and preparing technical reports.

Fleet Maintenance Technician x 2

Our focus is provision for people with complex needs including learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and physical disabilities. The service is delivered in a range of settings including supported living, respite and day services.

You will provide person centred and bespoke care and support, assisting people to engage in opportunities that are meaningful to them. The role does include providing dignified personal care.

You will be required to work flexibly and in some part of the service you will be required to lone work.

As part of the recruitment process we will collate preferences regarding where in the borough you would prefer to work.

However, we may not be able to accommodate all preferences. Plus, according to operational need, and with reasonable notice, we may at times ask that you work in alternative Together We Care locations within the borough. On some occasions, if it is unavoidable that we have to move your working location at short notice, we will aim for the change to be a reasonable distance from the original working location, if possible.

Shared Lives Carer Self Employment Opportunity

Knowsley Shared Lives Scheme, which is part of Knowsley Council, is currently recruiting Shared Lives Carers. Could you welcome a person with a care or support need in to your own home?

This may suit you if you are looking for a rewarding challenge with a payment of between £500 - £600 per week and you wish to work from home.

One of the services the scheme provides is long term support where someone would live with you as part of your family - you would need to live within the Knowsley Boundary to provide this type of support.

The scheme also provides respite, where someone would stay with you from one night up to 3 months and there is no requirement to live in Knowsley to provide this service. You will receive full training for your role and support from a team of Shared Lives Workers. The scheme will match you with someone who they feel you could support, who may have similar interest’s likes and preferences to yourself. Experience of providing care would be desired but it is not essential.

All applicants will undertake an assessment which will include character employer and GP references, a Disclosure and Barring Service Check and a health and safety check on your property. Your assessment will be approved by an independent panel.
