Our Children with Disability Social Work Team is seeking to recruit an Advanced Social Worker to support the team manager in meeting the short, medium and long term ambition of the service. A passion for improving the life chances of children with SEND is vital as well as experience across all disciplines of social work.

You will need to understand the principles of supervision and be able demonstrate how through effective supervision both team and individual morale can be positively reinforced and staff performance can be maintained or improved.

You will maintain a small but complex caseload in addition to supporting in the management of wider duty functions and day to day support for the team manager.

You will need to be qualified and professionally registered as a social worker, have knowledge of current legislation, have demonstrated your experience and abilities in respect of working in partnership with children, young people, families and partner agencies. You will need to evidence experience of working with vulnerable children and their families, preferably in a statutory setting, and your ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form. You would need to be able to work individually and as part of a team.
