The Knowsley Safeguarding Children Partnership (KSCP) is responsible for working together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in the borough and ensuring that they do so effectively, formulating local safeguarding arrangements for children, in consultation with key stakeholders including children and young advisors.

Our aim is to ensure that all children and young people in Knowsley are effectively safeguarded from harm and are prepared for successful independent lives where they have the skills they need to achieve their aspirations, giving them the best start in life.

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Business Manager for the Knowsley Safeguarding Children Partnership (KSCP) to support the statutory safeguarding partners and the relevant agencies to co-ordinate their safeguarding services, ensuring effective multi-agency arrangements are agreed and in place.

The KSCP Business Manager will work closely with the Independent Chair of KSCP and the Head of Service for Safeguarding & Quality Assurance to ensure that the work of the Partnership is consistent with statutory guidance and that agencies are held to account.

The post holder will oversee and manage the operational delivery of the KSCP’s Business Plan and will provide leadership and support to the KSCP’s work streams. They will champion the voice of the child and youth advocates, promoting a multi-agency learning culture of high support and challenge. They will need to ensure compliance with local/regional training strategies, procedural frameworks, and statutory arrangements for Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews.

The successful candidate will have experience performance management, business planning and delivery, financial management, strategy development and leadership. The postholder will have a proven record in managing and leading a team, successfully implementing learning and continuous improvement in service delivery, using quality assurance and audit systems across large organisations.

The post holder must be educated to degree or equivalent level, as well as holding a relevant professional qualification (in social work, health profession, education, police, probation or similar) or is able to demonstrate this specialist knowledge through extended experience and training.
