Knowsley Works provides employment and training related information, advice and guidance to local residents who are unemployed and seeking work. We are due to open a new premises shortly in Kirkby Shopping Centre. There are 2 posts to apply for.

The first role is to provide caretaking and oversight of premises, including safety and security, principally at the Kirkby shop. This will involve carrying out daily/weekly safety and security checks, eg related to fire risk, water quality, etc, and key holding, providing some opening and closing routines when required. There is also a requirement to be on standby and available for out of hours call out, as and when necessary. The hours available are 7.12 per week, as standard, and require attendance at site across Monday to Friday, for limited periods, to carry out daily/weekly tasks. Any out of hours working is additional to this.

The second role is expected to cover the duties of the first role as detailed above, as and when required, and is principally required to be a key holder, be on standby, and be available for out of hours call out, when necessary.

Previous experience in a similar role required. The posts may suit those wishing to add extra hours to any existing arrangements, already in place.

At Knowsley Council we will consider requests for flexible working.  For most roles, the following types of flexibility are usually possible: flexible hours, working from home, compressed hours, part-time.
