About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Revenues Officer to join our Sundry Debtors Team. You will play a key role in ensuring the effective billing, collection, and recovery of sundry debts, helping to safeguard public funds and support essential local services.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in local authority revenues or debt management who is looking to develop their career in a supportive and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and administer sundry debtor invoices accurately and within agreed timescales
- Monitor accounts, allocate payments, and reconcile income
- Actively pursue outstanding debts using appropriate recovery methods
- Respond professionally to customer queries via phone, email, and correspondence
- Negotiate payment arrangements in line with council policies
- Prepare cases for further recovery action, including referrals to enforcement or legal services
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with legislation and council procedures
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners
We are looking for someone who:
- Has up‑to‑date working knowledge of Sundry Debtors within a local authority or similar environment
- Is experienced in using Oracle Fusion and ContrOCC systems and standard IT packages
- Can prioritise workloads effectively and meet targets in a busy service
- Communicates clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues
- Works flexibly, collaboratively and in line with Knowsley’s Better Together values
